Issue 63
One of the great things about living in Winchester is the fine
selection of properties that are currently coming on the market – old
and new appear in our pages of Wykeham Life and this edition has a real
gem of a period house that still has many of its original Edwardian
features. Another draw, according to Liz Tighe who looked around
Rowanhurst, is that it sits in its own large walled garden.

Our cover property is a stunner with everything going for it – situated
on the banks of the River Dever, with gardens designed by a Chelsea
silver medallist, a sweeping gravel drive and all the trappings of
living in a gracious Georgian mansion, yet it is only 11 years’ old!
Liz Tighe was suitably impressed when she went round Summer House, so
read all about it.
And talking gardens, Heather Green has been exploring the strange world of extreme tree-shaping, and gives us some inspirational ideas garnered from a delightful book by Ivan Hicks and Richard Rosenfeld.
